Hello and welcome to the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association (KSHA).
I am both honored and humbled to be a part of this great Association and to serve as its president during the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Behind every successful organization is a dedicated team, a dedicated group of volunteers, whose focus is mission-centered on promoting a society of “we” and not of “me”. Your KSHA Board and Executive Council exist to serve you and the interests of speech-language pathology and audiology here in Kentucky.
KSHA is a robust association comprised of 1,300+ dedicated and caring speech-language pathologists, audiologists, speech, language, and hearing scientists, and student leaders. The vision and mission of KSHA is to empower its members through professional development, advocacy, collaboration, and education (PACE) so that all voices across the Commonwealth are heard. These tenets are outlined as guiding principles within our Strategic Plan and identified through the acronym REACH.
Responsive to our members,
Empower excellence through continuing education,
Advocate for our members’ needs,
Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and
Highlighting KSHA’s identity through strategic branding
To that end, the strength of our association is our members. KSHA is committed to excellence and serves to help our members REACH the next level by providing them opportunities for networking, leadership training, continuing education, recognition, and financial support through scholarships and grants. Moreover, our legislative advocacy team is unmatched.
If you are not a member, please consider joining our group of servant-leaders. Our Membership Page outlines the benefits and services afforded to our members and details the application process. You can also find additional information about KSHA on various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
On behalf of the KSHA Board and Executive Council, it is an honor to serve you. Thank you for visiting our website.
Respectfully,
Alan F. Smith, EdD, CCC/SLP
