Abstract: With the transition away from CPT code 92507 and the introduction of new, more descriptive treatment codes, speech-language pathologists must understand how these changes may affect coding, documentation, reimbursement, and clinical practice. This webinar will provide an overview of the rationale behind the coding updates, the current implementation timeline, and the latest information available regarding payer adoption and reimbursement considerations. Participants will learn how the new coding structure is intended to better reflect the complexity and specificity of SLP services, what documentation practices support accurate code selection, and how reimbursement may vary across Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers. The session will also review ongoing advocacy efforts by ASHA and state associations, discuss practical strategies for preparing clinics and organizations for implementation, and provide resources to help clinicians remain informed as additional guidance becomes available.

Presenter Information
Renee Kinder, MS, CCC-SLP, is the executive vice president of clinical services at Broad River Rehab, where she leads clinical strategy and innovation across post-acute and long-term care settings. A nationally recognized expert in rehabilitation and healthcare policy, she serves on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Healthcare and Economics Committee, provides advisory support to the American Medical Association’s CPT® Editorial Panel and is a member of the AMA Digital Medicine Payment Advisory Group. Renee is also a faculty member at the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine and a regular contributor to McKnight’s Long-Term Care News through her Rehab Realities column.

Heather Gaddis, MS, CCC-SLP, CDP, has been practicing speech-language pathology for 20 years. Her work setting experience includes acute rehab, long term care, assisted living, independent living and currently, acute care and adult outpatient at Baptist Health Lexington where she is employed. Heather currently serves as president-elect for the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association (KSHA). She has previously served as KSHA Chair for VP of Healthcare, KSHA Chair for Convention Adult Program for two years, KSHA Chair for Co-Convention for three years, as well as three years spent as a KSHA Convention Committee member. Heather has presented at regional and interdisciplinary conferences, including the KSHA Convention, Baptist Health Lexington’s Symposium and programs hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association. Her presentations have addressed a range of topics such as cognitive decline, cancer-related fatigue, and the use of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) in the management of head and neck cancer (HNC). Heather has been married for 23 years to her husband Tim and they have two beautiful daughters, Shelby and Catherine. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and being outdoors.
